Muslim-American Journalist Became the First Woman Who Modeled for Playboy in a Hijab

Noor Tagouri, 22, also wants to become the first American TV host to wear a hijab on screen.

American journalist and civic activist Noor Tagouri became the first woman to model for Playboy in a hijab: her photograph is featured in October issue of the magazine, the CNN reports.

The interview with Tagouri is part of the project called Renegades 2016, which features the representatives of the most different industries — from show business to game development — who can offer the readers a fresh insight into their professions.

22-year-old Newsy reporter who is dreaming to become the first TV host to appear on American screen in a hijab told Playboy about challenges of modern journalism, prejudice against Muslims and her view on the current political situation in the US.

Renegades series is one of the projects that were launched on Playboy after the magazine had a radical concept change and stopped publishing photos of naked women. The last ever erotic cover of the iconic magazine featured 49-year-old actress Pamela Anderson.
