Leica Passed Off a Canon Picture as Its Own

Peter Charlesworth discovered a mistake thanks to the reflection in the glasses of the man in the photograph.

Photographer Peter Charlesworth posted a short video where he draws attention to the fact that a photograph uploaded on Leica website to advertise its new Sofort Instant Camera was in fact taken with a Canon camera, PetaPixel writes.

The accidental mistake was discovered thanks to the reflection in the glasses: it shows that a man is taking a selfie with a Canon 7D. This information can also be found in EXIF data of the photograph, which was published on Leica website.

The article says that soon after the video was released this photograph was deleted and replaced with a different one.

Huawei was caught on the same mistake earlier, when the company also shared a photograph taken with a Canon camera, presenting it as a photograph taken with the help of a Huawei smartphone.
