Instagram of the Day: Roofers’ Adventures
Two thrill-seekers from Ukraine and Russia climb with a camera to the most hard-to-reach roofs and spires.
Ukrainian roofer Vitaliy Raskalov (@raskalov) takes panoramic photos after climbing into famous buildings. His collection contains selfies from the Basilica, the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family in Barcelona, and the Eifel Tower to name a few. In the last three years he and his Russian parntner, Vadim Makhotov (@makhorov), have traveled to 50 countries. In each country they found a building to climb.
The highest building Raskalov and Makhotov have climbed is the 634 meter high Shanghai Tower, which is under construction. They recorded the entire trek to the top of the skyscraper and posted it to Vimeo in February 2014. Soon after they were banned from entering the country, but later were able to cross the border of China using pseudonyms.
Raskalov and Makhotov are working on a documentary about their travels.
