Photo of the Day: Afro-Iran The Unknown Community

German photographer with Iranian roots Mahdi Ehsaei launched a fundraising campaign to publish a photo book, Afro-Iran: The Unknown Minority. Ehsaei’s photographs feature a small ethnic group from the the coast of the Persian Gulf. The project involves portraits of the community that is a blend of Iranian and African traditions. Ehsai says the people are ancestors of African slaves who became free in 1928. They conserve their traditions through dances, music, cousin and clothes.
