When Water Speaks
Visual artist that explores boundaries of human consciousness, nature, environment, mysticism and spirituality. Mar Lébou is also the author of the project "The Book of Molfars", exploring the material and metaphysical world of current-day Molfars.
— This project is the diamond which was under tremendous pressure squeezed out of a decade of battling depression, and panic attacks. During these years I tried many different treatments, psychologists, medications… These methods all kept me ‘going’, but never really resolved what was troubling me.
I gave up with Western medical treatments and looked for alternative healing. Wanting more ease and peace in my very full life, I found myself living in Northern Thailand, surrounded by forests, waterfalls and hot springs. It was there that I met Ofer Rosenthal and his school of aquatic therapy, Fly Deeper.
I felt drawn to try this healing therapy. After the first session at Sai Ngam Hot Spring, just 40 minutes of being expertly floated in the water by a practitioner, I felt tremendous release. Something very big shifted in me — like a heavy rock from within me sank to the waterbed. I was amazed how this common element, water, could produce such effects. To float, to release anxiety, insecurities, past traumas and struggles, to become like a baby again… To remember on a cellular level the sensations of being in my mother’s womb, to remember again her love and protection… Who could have imagined such healing could happen through simply surrendering to Water?
This visual poetry was born then. “When Water Speaks” takes you to a healing journey with images and poems. Float in them. Let everything go. Hear Water speak.
When a person lives in disconnection
from every thing
e v e r y t h i n g
existence feels…
barren
Like the sun’s rays no longer
bring warmth,
like loneliness is inescapable
even in the arms of a lover.
I was once that person.
I could not breathe.
Like a helpless insect
caught on a spider’s web of sadness,
I would become petrified
by the lead touch of my own thoughts.
This inner spider, a prison guard with many faces,
soundlessly consumed my hope and
spread poison
to my every cell.
Desperate, I searched for relief
for over a decade.
In the uttermost hope
of saving my life
I finally went to its very source —
Water
Suspended by her subtlety,
I no longer touch the ground
of what I thought I knew.
My inner ice is melting.
She’s washing me new.
My internal lead…
Evaporating.
Her healing whispers
echo like sonar
within me.
Close your eyes, she says,
surrender to my Magic
Exhale
Empty your lungs
Submerge it all
Let my words and images
Float into you
So I did…
Primordial Chaos
The chaos inside
is an iron wall between me
and sleep
