American photographer Eric Pickersgill published on his website a photo project called Removed, where he showed how much modern people depend on technology, Good writes.
To create every shot, Pickersgill gave the characters a smartphone and then asked them to freeze and removed the phone from the frame.
The author says this project was inspired by the scene he saw in one of the New York cafes: “A family was sitting at one table, they were so close, but so disconnected from each other they barely talked, — Pickersgill explains. — Father and two daughters had their phones out, and Mom stared out the window, sad.”
You can see all photos from this series at Removed project website.
