18 Hollywood Stars Kiss On Camera

The New York Times Best Actors and Actresses of 2014 kiss each other in nine short films.

Every year The New York Times chooses the Best Actors of the Year and invites them to participate in a special project. Yesterday, the magazine revealed a series of short movies, “9 Kisses,” directed by Elaine Constantine with the nine pairs of the A-listers: Benedict Cumberbatch and Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell and Laura Dern, Rosario Dawson and Jenny Slate, Chadwick Boseman and Kristen Stewart, Patricia Arquette and Jason Schwartzman, David Oyelowo and Timothy Spall, Jack O’Connell and Shailene Woodley, John Lithgow and Julianne Moore, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Miles Teller.

Each episode tells a story of the kiss and shows the actors in unexpected roles. For example, Benedict Cumerbatch plays Zoro, who takes off his mask to kiss Reese Witherspoon. Timothy Spall wins an arm wrestling competition by kissing his competitor, David Oyelowo.
