Young Marketing Professional Got Interviewed at San Francisco’s Best Agencies Because of Donuts

Young marketing professional from Lithuania Lukas Yla attracted the attention of advertising agencies in San Francisco by delivering them free donuts.

Yla came to San Francisco this summer. Telling his story, Adweek reminded that marketing sphere is oversaturated with professionals and it is not that easy to find a marketing job. Yla decided to make the best companies pay attention to him: he made a list of 10 large agencies and 30 tech companies, pretended to be a delivery guy and brought free donuts for the director or the marketing head. There were four donuts, a link to his CV on LinkedIn, and a phrase ‘Most resumes end up in trash. Mine — in your belly.’ in the package.

Yla ended up being invited to interviews by 10 companies out of 40. It is not specified whether he got employed by any of them yet. He supposes that the heads of the largest agency did not receive his parcel, as he was not allowed to deliver it in person, but was asked to leave it at the receptionist’s. According to Adweek, the number of invitations from companies in his case is ten times bigger than the average on the market.
