News Articles to be Published Directly onto Facebook

Facebook gives media entities the opportunity to publish articles directly.

Facebook launched a new feature, Instant Articles, that will allow news publishers to post their articles on the network’s mobile news feeds, writes Business Insider.

Instant Articles feature will allow media entities to publish written content directly on Facebook along with images, interactive maps, audio and video. Publishers can sell advertisements in their articles and are able to track traffic through comScore and other tools. Facebook teamed with nine publishers: The New York Times, National Geographic, BuzzFeed, NBC, The Atlantic, The Guardian, BBC News, Spiegel, and Bild.

“People share a lot of articles on Facebook, particularly on our mobile app. To date, however, these stories take an average of eight seconds to load, by far the slowest single content type on Facebook. Instant Articles makes the reading experience as much as ten times faster than standard mobile web articles,” says Facebook.
