A meteor falls in the sky above West Virginia during the annual August Perseid meteor shower. Falling meteors are small particles of stardust that burn in the atmosphere, leaving a bright trace. This happens when the Earth enters the dust trail of the Comet Swift–Tuttle. This year, the meteor shower is twice as thick as usually: you can see up to 200 falling meteors an hour.
