On the first Friday of February, dance festival, Llamadas, starts in Uruguay. The dance festival is a part of the Uruguay carnival. Uruguay dances have a different style from Brazilian dances. In Brazil they dance a melodic samba, in Uruguay — a more rhythmical candombe, which used to be a dance of the slaves. The Carnival takes place in the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, and lasts for more than forty days.
