Social network VSCO offers its users grants in the sum of $100,000

Social network VSCO founded a grant program with budget of $100,000 to support projects of creative people all over the world

California based Visual Supply Co founded VSCO Artist Initiative – a grant foundation to support creative projects from different corners of the world. The initial budget of the program is $100K. VSCO will be offering grants not just to photographers, but also for illustrators, videographers, designers, performers and musicians.

To receive the grant you need to complete additional online registration. In order to take part in this program you need to describe the idea of your project, its meaning and determine the deadline of its realization. The project will result into either offline-exhibit or sale of the photographs through VSCO Store. As of now all the photographs of the participants are posted on VSCO Grid. After completion of the project a part of the profits will go to the grant receiver and a certain part towards support of the future projects.

Today photographers Kevin Russ, Loren Marek, Nirav Patel, brothers Chris and Jon Schoonover, chinese cinematographer Leon Yan and a clothing brand Street Etiquette.

A month earlier the product of the company – VSCO Cam – morphed from a photo editing platform into a social network similar to Instagram. The only difference is that the photos on VSCO can’t be “liked” or commented on, and the users don’t know how many subscribers they have. “You wouldn’t leave a comment under a painting that you liked at a museum, would you?” – Joel Flory, VSCO CEO and co-founder, explains.

Visual Supply Co (VSCO) is a US-based company founded in California in 2011. Its specialty is creating efficient digital tools. VSCO team created work for Apple, MTV, Audi, Levi’s, Adobe, Sony, UnderArmour, Xbox, Webex, Getty Images, Nintendo, T-Mobile and Adidas.
