Video: Moving Silhouette Made of Water Drops without CGI

The work on this project took about 10 weeks.

Last month, Gatorade created advertising for their drinks which features a moving human silhouette made of water drops. According to the authors, despite the impressive final result, they didn’t used CGI to attain it, FStoppers writes.

They developed a special device especially for this project which released drops from over 2,000 miniature openings — at different intervals and in different sequence. Together they formed a silhouette and a picture of it was taken immediately. And then many of such photographs were combined and made into a video.

The authors made a separate video about the shooting process.
