Yves Saint Laurent Ad is Banned in Britain
The U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority decided that the model appeared unhealthily thin and can’t be example for other women.

The U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned a photo of a new collection by Yves Saint Laurent because of the “model appeared unhealthily underweight.” The images originally published by Elle feature 18-year-old Dutch model Kiki Willems. The Standards Authority concluded that her visible and prominent rib cage, as well her thighs and knees, appeared at similar width, which can be a sign of an unhealthy condition.
Elle and Yves Saint Laurent declined to comment the ASA’s decision.
