This weekend Madrid saw the annual livestock migration festival — the shepherds led two thousand sheep through the city. Seasonal migration of animals (to the South from the North in winter and to the North from the South in summer) started more than 700 years ago. And in the past twenty years this is a form of the shepherds' protest against urbanization. This is how the shepherds remind about themselves and fight for the right to use the roads of the modern cities for livestock migration.
