Twenty meters of wall of the bystreet leading to Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle are covered with pieces of gum. On Thursday, November 12, the Gum Wall is to be fully cleaned of all gum for the first time in 20 years. The authorities say the sugar from the gum started to erode the brickwork. After the wall surface is treated, sticking gum on it will be allowed again.
