From Matches and Acorns: Adult Toys
There were many books on how to assemble a DIY toy from matches and acorns in the USSR. The authors described or drew detailed instructions how to create something that could not be bought from things at hand. Among the DIY things that people made at home, which weren’t in the book, were adult toys.

— Since the times of the USSR, the topic of sex in general and sex toys in particular remains a taboo. However, back then people were trying to gain knowledge about the issue ‘experimentally’, at home.
Recreating the objects according to recipes I found of various forums, I am trying to analyze the sexuality of a modern man. Why are there still DIY sex toys — is it our fear to be stigmatized or a wish to have a unique dildo?
A dildo. 3D-printing with the use of flexible material, Fila Flex.
A vibrator. Electric toothbrush with a head from a plastic container from a Kinder Surprise.
A masturbator. Inflated surgical gloves.
A dildo. A water pipe with a head from foam rubber and a balloon.

A gag. Plastic container from a Kinder Surprise that is kept in place with a rubber band.
A strap-on. Base from a shoe pad with a head made of foam rubber and a balloon, and a harness from rubber bands.

Anal beads. Ping-pong balls, strung on a rubber band.
