Winners of Monochrome Awards

The jury selected the best black-and-white photographs of 2016.

The jury of Monochrome Awards, the international contest of black-and-white photographs, announced the names of the winners. French photographer Michel Kirch was named Monochrome Photographer of the Year and received a cash prize of $2,000 for the photo called Vertical Horizon that he took in Uzbekistan.

Mikhail Shestakov of Russia with his work called Pure became the Monochrome Discovery of the Year. The jury also selected winners in 13 theme categories, among them are Grant Galbraith of Australia (Landscapes), Panos Laskarakis of Greece (Wildlife), Fulvio Bugani of Italy (People), Piotr Musial of Poland (Fashion / Beauty).

In addition, the best works will be published in the annual Monochrome Photography Awards. All the photographs selected by the jury are available at the website of the contest.
