February Photo Contests
At the beginning of each month Bird in Flight updates you about photo contests for both professional photographers and photography lovers.
Deadline: February 15, 2017.
Entry fee: €15 to €30.
Award: €1,500 and a trip to Siena for the award ceremony.
Italian photography contest accepts submissions in nine categories, including “Faces and Characters”, “Architecture and City Spaces” and “Sports.” Among the jury members – The Guardian‘s Photo Editor Sarah Gilbert and a publisher of Street Photography Magazine Bob Patterson.
Deadline: February 21, 2017.
Entry fee: $45 for five images, $5 per each additional one.
Award: five prizes of $1,000 each.
Visual arts contest with an open theme.
Deadline: February 28, 2017.
Entry fee: $50 for the exhibition, $70 for the exhibition and a book publication.
Award: participation in four international exhibition, $1,500 and $500 for two winners.
International photography contest with an open theme. Best works will be exhibited in New York, Paris, Vancouver, and Thessaloniki.

Award: two prizes of €40,000 and €1,000 for each of the 29 finalists.
Sports photography contest organized by FC Barcelona accepts single images and photography projects that “reflect positive values of the sports world.” The competition is open for professional photographers with at least two years of experience, best works will be showcased at the exhibition.

Entry fee: €60.
Award: €37,000 (40,000 CHF)
Grant for professional photographers and those studying it. Author of the best project proposal will get €37,000 for its implementation.

Award: £5,000 for the Photographer of the Year winner, £500 for the category winners.
Photography contest dedicated to plants and nature photography accepts submissions in nine categories. Young photographers under 11 and aged from 11 to 17 will be evaluated in a separate category.
Deadline: March 3, 2017.
Entry fee: $30 to $210.
Award: two grants of $5,000, participation in the exhibition, portfolio review.
Four possibilities for beginners and established photographers from the Center photo community. Both finished projects and those in progress are eligible for Project Development and Project Launch contests. To participate in two other competitions, The Choice Awards and Review Santa Fe, one has to submit 15 to 20 images and a project statement.

One of the biggest Irish photography biennale. To participate one has to upload two to six images. Among the jury members are MoMA’s Assistant Curator Lucy Gallun, LENS (The New York Times’ project) founder James Estrin and a publisher, Michael Mack.

Entry fee: from $3.50 per one image to $57.50 for 25.
Award: four main prizes (to be announced), 18 gold bars.
Tenth annual iphoneography contest. Images made with iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch are eligible for participation, digital editing is allowed as long as it’s performed using these mobile devices.
