A stamp with the Russian warship sells for $2000 on eBay

A Ukrainian stamp “Russian warship, go f…!” is being sold for $2000 on the international platform eBay. At the same time, the local Ukrainian post departments sell the stamp for UAH 23 (less than $1).

Currently, dozens of listings on eBay offer the stamp. The price ranges from $16 for one stamp to $1999 for an envelope with several stamps and an autograph of Roman Hrybovy, the author of the now-famous phrase.

The presentation of the stamp “Russian warship, go f…!” took place on April 12. The post office printed 1 million copies of the stamp and has already sold half of them. To preserve the historical value of the stamp, no additional copies will be printed.

The Ukrainian post office recommends, against reselling or auctioning off the stamps (Prozorro bidding being an exception). The company wants the stamps to reach as many people as possible. With that in mind, sale restrictions were placed. Starting from April 18, one person can buy no more than 30 stamps. Besides, online orders — some of them were reaching 30, 000 stamps — are now unavailable.

Stamps “Russian warship, go f…!” are available at the Kyiv Main Post Office and in the majority of regional post centers. The company has saved a certain number of stamps for Kherson, Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk.

The famous phrase belongs to the Ukrainian border guards from the Zmiiny island. That’s what they said on the first day of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, when the Russian warship tried to force them to surrender.
