Pulitzer Prize Winning Photographer Returns to Vietnam After 43 Years

Press photographer Nick Ut returned to Trang Nang to document in Instagram how the place has changed since the war.

Nick Ut, a photojournalist of Vietnamese origin, who lives in Los Angeles, returned to Vietnam to where he shot “The Terror of War” 43 year ago.

His goal was to document the changes that have occurred since that day, when he, a 21-year-old Associated Press photographer, was covering the war in Vietnam. Instead of Leica M2 camera, Ut carried his iPhone to post the images to Instagram.

Nick Ut was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1973. “The Terror of War” is 41st on the list of the 100 the Most Influential Photographs of twentieth century according to the Columbia University.
