Teens Launch #DontJudgeChallenge to Provoke Questions About Beauty
The flashmob #DontJudgeChallenge is becoming more and more popular online. Teens record short selfie-videos of themselves covered with thick make-up looking “ugly” then they show themselves looking attractive. They are making the statement that people should not be judged only by appearance, writes Mashable.
But the #DontJudgeChallenge’s teens have been criticized. Their critics argue that modeling with painted-on acne, freckles, and unibrows they are mocking people who actually have these features.
A new flashmob was launched in response, #BeautyInAllChallenge, with the goal of saying, “I have acne and braces, but I still look attractive.” Participants post video and photos demonstrating their “unattractive” qualities.
