10 Thousand Kilometer Journey in One Image

A journey from St. Petersburg to Beijing turned into a 69,000 × 43,446 pixel image.

London-based developer and computer graphics professional Benjamin Blundell used a video camera to record the view from his window during the three weeks of his train journey from St. Petersburg to Beijing.

After the journey was finished Blundell broke the video into individual frames, cut a several pixels thick vertical column out of the each of them and glued the columns together in chronoligical order. For convenience the author cut the image into several pieces and put them into a rectangle. Each column represents 1/30 of a second of the journey, N+1 reports.

You can find more details on the website of the project.
