Infographic of the Day: The History of Urbanization for 6,000 Years

New York designer Max Galka who visualizes big data posted a 3-minute video, History of Urbanization, where he shows the history of the first human settlements and their gradual change into modern cities.

Galka says that when working on this project he based on the study that was recently published in Scientific Data. The authors of the study, in turn, say that although the data they collected covers the key urbanization processes, their study is ‘far from comprehensive’ and has its limitations.
