American Toiletries Brand Parodies Axe and Old Spice in Its New Ad
Dollar Shave Club used famous advertising images in its own campaign.
Dollar Shave Club published a series of promo videos for its new body wash, where it parodied famous images from Axe and Old Spice advertisements, Adweek writes.
Each of the videos shows customers walking around the shop looking for a body wash, and when they choose products by famous brands, men who look like characters from Old Spice and Axe ads — bodybuilders and surfers, who look nothing like the customers themselves — appear in front of them.
“How about a shower product that’s more you?” the video asks.
