The New York Times Commercial about the Truth Has Five Million Views

The Truth is Hard was shown during the broadcast of the Oscars award ceremony.

Half-a-minute video titled The Truth is Hard, released by The New York Times, had over five million views in just several days after it was published, Adweek writes. The video shows different statements, which all start with the same phrase: “The truth is…”

“The truth is a woman should dress like a woman. The truth is women’s rights are human rights. The truth is the media is dishonest. The truth is we have to protect our borders,” says the video, showing also other — sometimes controversial — statements, which are popular in contemporary American society.

At the end of the video, we see the phrase ‘The truth is hard to find.’ It was shown during the broadcast of the Oscars award ceremony. US President Donald Trump, who regularly accuses American media of lying, also paid attention to the video. In his message on Twitter, he called commercial by The New York Times an attempt ‘to save its failing reputation.’
