Pineapple Left on the Table in the Exhibition Hall in Scotland Mistaken for Art

The fruit in one of the exhibition halls was deliberately brought in by a student of a local university.

A pineapple that was left in one of the exhibition halls of the contemporary art exhibition in Aberdeen, Scotland was mistaken for an art piece, The Independent writes. According to Ruairi Gray, a student at a local university, he brought the fruit to the exhibition as a joke: he found an empty table inside and placed a pineapple on it, hoping that visitors would mistake it for a piece of art.

When four days later Gray visited the exhibition again together with his friend, he found that the pineapple that he left was covered with a glass. One of the organizers of the exhibitions says that she doesn’t know who did it — she didn’t give anybody instructions to do so: “It’s a bit of a mystery – the glass is pretty heavy and would need two or three people to move it, we have no idea who did it,” Natalie Kerr says.

Last year, a similar incident occurred in San Francisco: the visitors of an exhibition at a local museum also mistook glasses that the prankers left in one of the exhibition halls for art.
