Academy of British Cover Design Awards 2015 Winners Revealed
The third annual Academy of British Cover Design Awards (ABCD) winners have been revealed, including the 2015 Waterstones Book of the Year winner. The awards are given in 10 categories.
In the Children’s category, the winner was the 2015 Waterstones Book of the Year, The Fox and the Star (Particular Books), designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith.
In the Literary Fiction category, the award was taken by Jon Gray. In the Mass Market category, designer Joanna Thomson won the award for her work on Hausfrau. The Sci-Fi/Fantasy award was won by Ben Summers’ composition for A Man Lies Dreaming.
The Crime/Thriller category was secured by Penguin’s Richard Bravery for his design of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot by David Shafer. The Non-Fiction shortlist was topped by Claire Skeats’ work on Egg by Blanche Vaughan. Women’s Fiction was scooped by Peter Dyer for his design of I Love Dick. Also among the winners were Kate Gaughran’s design In the Young Adult category, James Jones in the Series Design, and Sinem Erkas emerged victorious in the Classics/Reissues category.
