Instagram is Banned in North Korea

Access to the social network is stopped from June 20th, because of its “harmful content”.

Access to Instagram has been denied to the citizens and the tourists in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea writes The Business Insider. Since June 20th users receive a notice in English saying that the website is a blacklisted site and in Korean saying the site contains harmful content. Koryolink, the only mobile services provider of North Korea, claimed that they did not receive any instructions to block the app and do not have any relationship with the banning.

Access to Facebook and Twitter is still open.
