The Ad for the First World Drone Race Released Online
Organizers of World Drone Prix 2016 promote their competition by filming a race between a drone and a supercar.
Organizers for the first ever world drone race World Drone Prix 2016 released an advertisement video, where a McLaren 650S police car races with a drone. The authorities in Dubai where the video was shot have blocked traffic on several streets so that this video could be created.
Engadget reports that over 100 teams will participate in the championship, which will take place on March 11 and 12. The preliminary rounds are planned for March 7 and 8, and 32 teams will make it to the final stage of the competition. The prize pool of WDP is $1 mln USD, and the winner will receive $250,000 USD.
