A zookeeper is feeding newborn lion cubs in Demydiv village 50 kilometers from Kyiv. White lions are not a separate subspecies, their unusual color is due to a genetic disease, leucism, which causes most of the animals that have the mutation to die in the wild, so they have to live in captivity.
