Book About Style Similarity is Reprinted on it’s 20th Anniversary

Exactitudes by Ellie Uyttenbroek and Ari Versluis will be reprited on the twentieth anniversary of its publication. The book contains photos of people who are wearing similar styles.

In the new edition, the photographers will publish 19 new series with residents of Saint Petersburg, Zurich, Milano, Casablanca, New York City and Paris.

Versluis and Yuttenbroek started the series in 1994. In an interview with New York Magazine they explained what has changed since they started the project, “In the beginning, there was no internet. The first series of skaters we did in Rotterdam was special because they were wearing Tommy Hilfiger tee-shirts and these other skate brands that, at the time, you had to go to the States to buy. To get black Levi’s in the ’90s you had to go to London. Nowadays you can get the shirt with one click, and that’s a big difference. And another thing is that now there’s so much presentation online. We’ve made three or four series just from Facebook, checking out profiles.”
