Apple’s Project “World Gallery” Wins Cannes Lion

“World Gallery”-themed campaign became the best advertisement 2015 in Outdoor category.

Jury of the 2015 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity “Cannes Lions” awarded the Grand Prix Lion in the outdoor category to the World Gallery project created by Apple.

The main feature of the campaign was Apple’s refusal to use the services of the professional photographers. To advertise the advantages of a new smartphone specialists of the company along with the designers of the TBWA/Media Arts Lab agency selected 77 images taken by iPhone6 users and uploaded them online. Then, 10,000 copies of the photos were printed out and placed on billboards, buses, stadiums and buildings’ walls in 70 cities of 24 countries. The campaign featured the camera of iPhone 6 and was aimed to show that everyone can take beautiful photos.
