Video: Europe’s Largest Blood Factory

A photographer Greg White posted “Blood,” a video featuring the Filton Blood Centre, the largest blood factory in Europe. The video documents the beauty of the place where bags of donated blood are tested, filtered and repackaged before transportation.

White said that he was impressed with what he saw when came to Filton Blood Centre to photograph it for a story for the science journal “Mosaic.” After finishing the job, he decided to return to the Blood Centre and record the process with a video camera.

“I wasn’t really wasn’t thinking of it as blood, it’s more a mechanical thing to me. I go to many industrial places and see many product lines. I just like repetition of form; once you find it in a film camera lens it makes a pleasing aesthetic,” says White.
