VR Film Henry Wins an Emmy

Last year, the award went to VR film Sleepy Hollow, based on the eponymous TV show.

Henry, a VR short film by Oculus Story Studio, was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Original Interactive Program, the company’s blog says.

Henry became the first original VR animation to receive an award. Unlike in traditional animated films, the audience can wear virtual reality goggles and participate in the action on screen. People get inside the house of a hedgehog, they can check out his bedroom or kitchen, watch him bake a cake and even help him do it.

The animation is about Henry the Hedgehog who is celebrating his birthday and wants to hug his friends, but scares them with his spikes.
