Audrey Tautou to Hold a Solo Exhibition of Self-Portraits

The exhibition is dedicated to the theme of personal space that the actress lacked after the success of Amelie.

French actress will hold an exhibition of self-portraits, which will be open between July 3 and September during the Rencontres d’Arles festival in Paris. Many people have seen Amelie, the movie where Tautou plays the lead character, but the photographs that she took after working on this film have never been exhibited before.

Tautou took all the self-portraits in her free time or during breaks between shoots. Dazed quotes: “I adapt myself to the location, which is always some intimate place – a place that I owned or at my parents’ house. Once I take the photos, I don’t retouch and I don’t change the framing at all. I don’t cheat on anything.”

According to Audrey Tautou, she started to take selfies after working on Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Amelie in 2001. “I needed to do it. Maybe because of what happened to me with this huge celebrity suddenly,” the actress says in her interview with The New York Times.
