BBC News Shoots Aerial Footage of Auschwitz
The British channel looks at the concentration camp today, 70 years after its liberation.
On January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, BBC News published a video showing what the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz looks like today. The video was made with a drone and depicts panoramic views of the death camp. At Auschwitz in World War II, Nazis committed mass murder. The genocide killed more than 1.5 million people on the territory of the camp. After Auschwitz was liberated 70 years ago by the Soviet troops, the territory became one of main symbols of the Holocaust. In 1947 the concentration camp was turned into museum.
