— The subject can be anything, or anyone. Depends on how I feel in that moment. I have shots that have a lot of humor in them and ones that are just purely visual. My photography is about me, of course and about what I want to show and talk about in a given time.

The process of photographing someone is a way of communicating itself, that I, personally, find very interesting and comfortable. Different people have different reactions, whether a stranger or a friend. It’s never easy, you just have to make it happen.

Both story and atmosphere, narrative and feelings are important and unimportant at the same time. There are photos with less visual artistic values and with big stories behind them that change the world and its history. And there are photos where you just don’t care what happened there, you are making up your own story in your head that makes the experience very fascinating.The subject can be anything, or anyone. Almost all my photos have stories behind them, some are interesting, some less so, but I still like some of the photos with less interesting stories. They just feel right.

The ’15 photo book is a retrospective of my work in the year 2015, most of the photos are shot in Berlin, but several photos are from France and Sweden. With this book I try to examine the art of laying images out and creating different ambience by it. I’ve seen many good photographs in my life that were shown or exhibited in very unattractive ways and the whole experience was frustrating to me. Therefore, on the other hand, one can create a strong artwork by properly laying images out, even when the photos are not so impressive when seen separately.

The book is my project, but it involves a lot of talented people, who are inseparable creators of this book as myself. None of it would have happened without Ana Alex Tabatadze, for instance, who motivated me and comprehended my sense of aesthetics flawlessly.

‘Berlin’s community’ might mean a lots of different things. One thing I can say is that it’s easy to feel like you’re home here, but not everybody is your real friend. Everything that happens in my life directly reflects on my work and I don’t really care if viewers see it.

Various things. Nowadays it’s a highly subjective issue of what is, and what is not, art. And it gets harder and harder to see the difference. It is also about the person itself, everybody calls themselves an artist nowadays. There is a long and exhausting process of becoming an artist and I find it a bit disrespectful when every other Instagram user puts that label on their faces.

On the other hand, if I answer to that exact question, I can also say that if you believe that you’re streaming towards artistic photography, you just have to be confident and have the right intentions, but being an artist is not as fun as it seems to teenagers.

I see the future of photography highly digitalized and very flat. I’ll be around partying somewhere.
