Still Life with Cats in Sandra Stark’s Project
American photographer, lecturer in the Photography Department at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, has been taking photographs since the age of 12, and in her works often mocks classic still life.
Cat Day was recently celebrated in Russia on March 1. In Japan it was February 22, in the US, October 29, and in Europe, February 17. All of this is a sign of the absolute international disagreement over the issue. Also, in 2002 the International Fund for Animal Welfare suggested marking International Cat Day on August 8.
We at Bird In Flight think, however, that every day is cat day. That’s why, without linking it with any dates, we publish Sandra Stark’s project, where she photographed her pets, Jacob and Rayburn.
