November Photo Contests
At the beginning of each month Bird in Flight updates you about photo contests for both professional photographers and photography lovers.
The theme of the contest is “Changes.” Single images as well as photo series are eligible for submission.
Deadline: November 11, 2016.
No entry fee.
Award: €6,000 for the implementation of the proposed project.
Documentary photography contest dedicated to humanitarian actions, human rights issues, armed conflicts, natural disasters or refugees’ problems. In order to participate, ten never-before-published images should be submitted.
Deadline: December 4, 2016.
Entry fee: $15 for one image, $30 – for three, $50 – for six and $100 for fifteen images.
Award: $3,000, exhibition on Cyprus, photo equipment.
One of the most well-known mobile photography contests. Works are being accepted in 20 categories, from “Architecture” to “Wildlife.” An exhibition dedicated to the best entries will be held in February 2017 on Cyprus.

Entry fee: $15 for amateurs, $20 for professionals.
Award: $2,500 and $1,500 for two winners.
Yearly photography contest for amateur and professional photographers. Entries are being accepted in five categories: “Architecture”, “Fine Art”, “People”, “Editorial” and “Nature,” each of them having five additional sub-categories.
Deadline: December 26, 2016.
Entry fee: $19.
Award: a grand-prize of $20,000, $1,000 and $500 for the second and third prizes.
Sixth contest organized by 1x.com gallery. Twelve categories for image submission, the author of the image that will have the highest number of user votes will get an additional prize of $1,000. Photographer and publisher Lois Lammerhuber will choose the winner.

The contest organized by the Sony and World Photography Organization is divided into four categories: for professional photographers, youth, students and an open category. Both single images and photo series are accepted.

34th photography contest organized by Nikon. This year’s contest has two themes: “Celebration” (single images only) and “Future” (both single images and series of two to five photos). Submissions participants under 30 will be evaluated separately.

Award: Zeiss photo equipment for the sum of €12,000, €3,000 for the implementation of one’s own project.
Contest by World Photography Organization and optical systems manufacturer Zeiss. This year’s theme is “Meaningful Places.” Among the judges – photographer Jürgen Schadeberg, Lonely Planet Traveller’s Picture Editor Claire Richardson and Commissioning Executive at The Space Sarah Toplis.
