People Deserted Hangzhou in China During the G20 Summit
Most of the population left the city, making use of the state-paid vacation or tourist vouchers.

Hangzhou, one of the fastest-developing cities in China, with the population between 8 and 15 million people, was deserted during G20 summit.
Most of the citizens left, making use of the vacation paid by the state for public officials or 500 yuan tourist vouchers that people could receive if they applied in advance. Many shops, restaurants, and entertainment center were closed during the summit.
