Canadian Woman Arrested for Smuggling Cocaine Documented Her Trip on Instagram

Melina Roberge (22) documented her trip on a tourist liner, which might become the last sea voyage of her life.

Australian police arrested three Canadian citizens for smuggling 95 kg of cocaine worth about $23 million, Mashable reports. The authorities say this is the biggest amount of the drug ever imported into the country on a cruise ship.

The media paid attention to the fact that one of the arrested smugglers, Melina Roberge (22), extensively documented her trip on Instagram.

The woman arrived to Australia on Sea Princess, a ship that started its voyage two months ago in England. In this time, it has stopped numerous times in North America, countries of the Caribbean and South America, where the illegal cargo has allegedly been loaded.

Roberge and two other suspects — André Tamine (63) and Isabelle Lagacé (28) — might receive life sentences.
