Vimeo user Titouan Ropert published a four-minute video where he compared scenes from the movies by Lars von Trier and Andrei Tarkovsky, looking for visual similarity.
Von Trier himself has confessed his love for the works of the Soviet director numerous times and confirmed that they have had tremendous influence on him: “Have you ever seen a film called the Mirror? I was hypnotised! I’ve seen it 20 times. It’s the closest I’ve got to a religion – to me he is God.”
