Indigogo Campaign For Dog Shelter

Italian photographer, Dan Bannino launched an Indiegogo campaign to collect €6,000 to support dogs in shelters by publishing a book about them.

The idea to help animals started year ago when Bannino rescued his dog, Rothko, from a shelter. Then he decided to shoot a series, “Poetic Dogs,” where dogs posed as authors of world literature. On his Facebook page Italian photographer publishes portraits of the homeless dogs, dressed as famous writers with the dog’s life stories, which include how they were rescued.

“Most of these dogs suffered hunger, sickness, loneliness and are still giving their blessings to every human being they see, in the same way a lot of great artists did in the past, leaving us the treasure and legacy of their rare art,” writes the creator. Bannino asks those who want to have a dog, not to buy one, but to adopt from a shelter.
