Instagram of the Day: Astronaut’s Diary
NASA astronaut Scott Kelly (@stationcdrkelly) created an Instagram diary of his stay on the International Space Station. He has already spent 123 days in orbit. During this period he has published more than 200 images featuring celestial bodies, everyday life of the space station, panoramas of cities and mountains captures from orbit and multiple selfies.
His photos have collected thousands of likes. Occassionally Kelly is able to document unusual space events. For example, last week he captured the Earth, Moon, Venus and Jupiter lined up.
Kelly’s expedition will continue for more than 200 days. One of the goals is to explore the impact of a long stay in orbit on the human organism. The data will be used for the planning of a human mission to Mars.
