Stuart Pilkington publishes a new project
New project of Stuart Pilkington titled Street Portraits is devoted to the residents of Great Britain. Over the course of nine months Stuart will be visiting one of four cities a week – Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, and Stoke-on-Trent.
“I like doing portrait photography the most. What inspired me to start this project was Alec Soth’s series (editor’s note: contemporary American photographer) Sleeping By the Mississippi, where he travelled up and down the banks of the Mississippi River and photographed random people who crossed his path. To me, making new acquaintances and learning people’s stories is fascinating. It makes me get out of my comfort zone, so it is always quite a challenge,” – Pilkington shares.

As a reminder, in the recent past Bird In Flight published photo project “Someone I Know” which was curated by Stuart. The curator asked hundred photographers from all over the world to take a picture of a person they knew.
