New Time-Lapse Video Technology
New software separate images of popular landmarks from large community photo collections and syntheses them into time-lapse videos.
A team of researchers from Google and the University of Washington developed a new way of creating time-lapse video using images available online, writes The Next Web. The new software clustered 86 million photos into landmarks and popular viewpoints, and sorted the photos by date, warping each photo onto a common viewpoint. After color correction, all the images were synthesized into time-lapse videos.
