Winners of British Journal of Photography Photo Contest Announced

The best single photographs and series were selected in the Graduate and Undergraduate categories.

Organizers of the Breakthrough Awards photo contest supported by the British Journal of Photography announced the 2016 winners.

The winner in the Undergraduate Single Image category is Daragh Soden with her work Young Dubliners; the best in Graduate Single Image category is Piotr Karpinski with Woman in the Church No. 1.

The best series of the contest were Jan McCullough’s conceptual Home Instruction Manual (Graduate) and Charlie Surfs on Lotus Flowers by Simone Sapienza (Undergraduate) on studying the connection between the past and the present in Vietnam.

The judges for the contest were British Journal of Photography editorial director Simon Bainbridge, the author for Time, The Telegraph and Foam Magazine Gemma Padley, art director for It’s Nice That Jamie McIntyre, and others.
