Aftermath of the Earthquake in Italy Shown in ‘Before and After’ Photographs
The selection of photographs shows the destructions caused by the earthquake in central Italy.
On the night between August 23 and 24, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Italy. Although earthquakes such as this one are not usually catastrophic, some cities were seriously destroyed. According to the local authorities, the victim toll reached 260, and many people are still buried in the debris.
Comunes Norcia, Accumoli and cities Amatrice and Pescara del Tronto that are located 100–150 kilometers to the North-East from Rome.
