South Korean Company Shows the Performance of a New Humanoid Robot
South Korean company Hankook Mirae Technology Robotics posted a video where it showed what they have achieved so far in their work in creating the humanoid robot Method-2: the video published by Designboom shows the robot take its first steps.
The project was launched in 2014 — the creators raised about $200 million of investment for it. In 2017, the company plans to complete the project and start to manufacture these robots on an industrial scale: it is planned that they will sell at $8.3m each.
In the video, Method-2 is controlled remotely, but it also has a cabin for the operator. The developers plan that the robot will be used during emergencies to get into places where it is too dangerous or too difficult for a human to go.
